Company History
DUNIA means: "The World" in sanscrit. We chose this name, as it clearly illustrates our operation based on numerous travels to various countries, but mostly to the Indonesian archipelago.
Our "Focussing" on Indonesia, as a source of inspiration has to do with the fact that the country is made of more than 1300 islands with diverse ethnique groups providing a large spectrum of talented craftsmen.
Our company operates from our headquarter in Geneva, with branches in Java. We have now been importing furniture and objects for more than 15 years.
All our decorative objects have been carefully hand picked in the course of our frequent travels across the country, for you to discover in our retail outlets.
We are able to propose incalculable items, such as: basket ware, fabrics (ikats / batiks) earthenware, stoneware, brassware, glassware, bambooware, etc.
Our furniture range consists of more than 300 models made from plantation teak, and bamboo (a fast growing "weed") in order to protect our echo-system.
Thanks to the craftmen's know-how and the close relationship which we have established over countless visits. We are now able to make all sorts of furniture to measure and according to your particular requirements.
We can also propose our: "hunting" skills to search for various styles of antique pieces such as: colonial, chinese, art deco, primitive, which we will renovate/transform in our factory in Jogyakarta.
The aim of our company is to propose our clients with a different alternative for decorating their "interior", using "live materials" with a story which we will be more than happy to transmit to them.
